Richard Emerson has never been very good at taking “no” for an answer. Not just because he’s profoundly deaf, either. In the early 1990s he decided New Zealand needed better beer, and that was that. This perfectly-balanced East Coast IPA is dedicated to his unrelenting commitment to the cause.

A classic East Coast IPA style, Fall on Deaf Ears has a rich malt sweetness with citrus and fruity American hop character with a nice little hop bitterness to kick you in the pants.

A prefect beer to share with Mr Emerson, or to sip whilst nestling into his book!

The Phantom Lord displays all the classic stout, characteristics. Black as tar, opulent roast and chocolate notes yet hopped in the way we would hop an American Style Pale Ale. Fermenting with an English Ale yeast has added a luxurious depth to the malty mouthfeel.

A big beer, great for those cold nights, or just as a night cap

This naturally sweet and refreshingly tart raspberry sour as a show of support for ultra-endurance runner Glenn Sutton. Hes competing in the Badwater 135.
A non-stop, 217km event through the heart of Death Valley, in the middle of summer. Its thirsty work just thinking about it!

low in alc % so cam be appreciated anytime of day or before heading home!

For those who did not get down to Bluff for the oyster festival, there is Emerson’s Bluffie (4.2%).

It is a smooth easy to drink stout with only a touch of bitterness.

It is released at the festival each year.

Great by itself or if you can get some oysters, make sure you savour them with this limited release!

Hot days, and refreshing to start our Path to the Hopfather

Emersons Umeboshi Gose is slightly salty, subtly sour, and fully-refreshing.

Quite appropriate considering whats happening Japan at the moment!!
